WILD HORSES

WILD HORSES ARE LIVING SYMBOLS OF THE WEST. THIS HERD IS LOCATED IN THE EAST FORK OF THE SALMON RIVER AREA. IT IS BELIVED THAT THE IDAHO WILD HORSES ORIGANALLY STARTED FROM LIFESTOCK MINERS AND RANCHERS BROUGHT TO THE AREA AROUND 1870. EARLY DAY RANCHERS FREQUENTY RELEASED STALLIONS INTO THE HERD TO IMPROVE OR UPGRADE THE QUALITY.

THEY STAYED HIGH ON THE RIDGE AND KEPT A CLOSE EYE ON ME.

THIS WAS A MARE WITH HER YEARLING COLT.

ITS A TOUGH LIFE BEING A WILD HORSE CHECK OUT THE MISSING EAR AND CRIPPLED FOOT.

MOST LOOKED HEALTHY AND POWERFUL AND VERY WILD.
